Few holiday regions are as diverse as the Black Forest. Its 11,400 square kilometers in the south-west of Germany are home to a rapidly changing landscape, with forests in the north, the less dense central Black Forest, and the mountainous south that leads down to the Rhine.
Germany’s highest non-alpine mountain range comprises only around two thirds of the total surface of the holiday’s region Black Forest. With the lush, sprawling heights of the Baar Area in the east, the wine country to the west and the Rhine Valley to the west and the south, no matter which area you choose: Baden, Kraichgau, Ortenau, Breisgau, Tuniberg, Kaiserstuhl or Markgräflerland – every single region boasts top-quality wines.
Black Forest visitors will find rich and varied landscapes, a diverse selection of health and spa resorts, delicious regional food, cultural and architectural treasures, especially in local cities, living regional traditions and a big variety of country sports such as hiking, Nordic walking, mountain biking and cycling, horse riding and golf. The area is also excellent for families, with special facilities for younger guests in all categories of accommodation.
The Rench Valley offers you a wide range of culinary delights. Our first-class restaurants serve a mixture of specialties of the tradition-rich Baden cuisine and the related Alsatian cuisine.
Having time for each other, experiencing new things, feeling well – that’s what families look for in the most beautiful season of the year. The Rench Valley offers all that. Here you can find rural idyll and tranquility and your children can play light-heartedly. Families are always welcome: our vineyards, farms, playgrounds, parks, and heated outdoor swimming pools guarantee a lot of fun for the whole family. During the summer holidays we even provide a special program for your children that will turn their holidays into an unforgettable experience.
Be enchanted by our landscape and its diverse character: endless forests, idyllic valleys, and the hills of the Black Forest offer many possibilities for hiking, mountain biking, and paragliding, while its planer area, surrounded by vines and orchards, is an ideal place for bicycle tours and walks. Known for good reason as the “Tuscany of Germany”, our region enjoys a mild and pleasant climate that is reflected also in the natural scenery.
